Bard Spells

Bardic Knowledge

Add the Bard’s class level to Knowledge checks to apply this ability.

Bardic Music

Once per day per bard level, a bard can use their song or poetics to produce magical effects on those around him (usually including themselves, if desired). Each ability requires both a minimum bard level and a minimum number of ranks in the Perform skill to qualify; if a bard does not have the required number of ranks in at least one Perform skill, he does not gain the bardic music ability until he acquires the needed ranks.
Starting a bardic music effect is a standard action. Bardic music abilities require concentration, which means the bard must take a standard action each round to maintain the ability. Even while using bardic music that doesn’t require concentration, a bard cannot cast spells.

Countersong – Bards with 3 or more ranks in Perform can use music or poetics to counter sound-based magical effects. Each round of the countersong, make a Perform check. Any creature within 30 feet of the bard (including the bard themselves) that is affected by a sonic or language-dependent magical attack may use the bard’s Perform check result in place of it’s saving throw. If a creature within range of the countersong is already under a relevant effect, they gain another saving throw against the effect each round they hear the countersong.
Fascinate Bards with 3 or more ranks in Perform can use music or poetics to cause one or more creatures to become fascinated with them. Each creature to be fascinated ust be within 90 feet, able to see and hear the bard, and able to pay attention to them. The bard must also be able to see the creature. The distraction of nearby combat or other danger prevents this from working. Bards can target one additional creature for every three bard levels. Save DC is equal to the Bard’s perform check upon using the ability.
Inspire Courage – - Bards with 3 or more ranks in Perform can use music or poetics to inspire courage in themselves or their allies to improve their combat abilities. To be effected, an ally must be able to hear the bard sing. The effect lasts as long as the ally hears the bard and five turns afterwards. An effected ally gains a +1 bonus on saving throws, attack rolls, and damage rolls. At 7th, 14th, and 20th levels, this effect increases.
Inspire Competence – A bard of 3rd level or higher with 6 or more ranks in Perform can use their music or poetics to help an ally succeed at a task. The ally must be within 30 feet and able to see/hear the bard. the bard must also be able to see the ally. The ally gets a +2 bonus on skill checks as long as they hear the bard’s music. A bard cannot inspire competence in themselves.
Suggestion – - Bards of 6th level with 9 or more ranks in Perform can make a suggestion (as the spell) to a creature they have already Fascinated. Making a suggestion doesn’t count against a bard’s daily limit on musical performances. A Will save (DC – 10+half bard level+bard’s Cha) negates the effect. This ability affects only a single creature.
Inspire Greatness – A bard of 9th level or higher with 12 or more ranks in Perform can use their music or poetics to inspire greatness in himself or a single willing ally within 30 feet, granting them extra fighting capability. For every three levels a bard attains beyond 9th, they can target one additional ally with this ability. A creature inspired with greatness gains 2d10+con in temporary HP, a +2 on attack and damage rolls, and +1 on Fortitude saves. this effect lasts for as long as the ally hears the bard sing, and five turns after. HP gained is kept after the effect wears off, but not above the character’s maximum HP.
Song of Freedom – A bard of 12th level or higher with 15 or more ranks in Perform can use their music or poetics to create an effect equivalent to the Break Enchantment spell. Using this ability requires 1 minute of uninterrupted concentration and music, and it functions on a single target within 30 feet. A bard can’t use this ability on themselves.
Inspire Heroics – A bard of 15th level or higher with 18 or more ranks in Perform can use their music or poetics to inspire tremendous heroism in themselves or a single willing ally within 30 feet. For every three bard levels attained beyond fifteen, you can inspire heroics in one additional creature. To inspire heroics, a bard must sing and the ally must hear them for one full round. A creature inspired gains +4 on saving throws and +4 to AC. The effect lasts as long as the ally can hear the song and for five turns afterward.
Mass Suggestion – As suggestion. Requires 18th level and 21 or more ranks in Perform. The bard can make a suggestion to any number of creatures he has already fascinated.
